Three day weekend

Went back to work for two days, and have three off! Pretty great, huh? My house is a mess, since I have not been able to do much, our bedroom has seen better days. There are clean clothes piled everywhere. We need to start doing so much better! Every year I quietly say to myself (I never reveal my resolutions for fear someone will actually hold me to them ;)) that housework will be a daily priority. And really at the end of this year I really started doing that--I started paying someone to clean my house every two weeks. Now, let me just say that she is great--very reasonable--I have not had to clean any toliets since she started. But, we still cannot seem to keep this house clean. Could it possibly be because I have two children who drag everything they own all over the house just for kicks? Maybe. Hunter helps out so much, truth be told, probably has done more than me lately. But I get so tired of picking up and two minutes later the cyclone hits again.

And laundry--don't even ask. I do realize that it needs to be done daily with four people living here. It just doesn't seem to happen that way. If you have any suggestions--please feel free to comment!

Guess what I will be doing for my three day weekend? Such is life!

Back to the grind

Today was my first day back to work since having gall bladder surgery. I am finally starting to feel better.

Trying to take down Christmas decorations. Every year, as soon as Christmas is over, I am ready to get rid of the decor! I have been known to take everything down on Christmas night, and had I not had to work today, I probably would have. I just get so tired of it, don't get me wrong, I love Christmas and I love the tree and lights, but I am so over it by Dec 25!

Merry Christmas!

Once again, Christmas has come faster than I would like. Sometimes I feel as though my life is in fast forward--and I can't reach the pause button! Too fast for my taste.

Madison was up at 8:30 this morning (the kid loves to sleep) and Hunter got up with her. I was half awake, half asleep, so Fisher and I stayed in the bed until about 9:00. It is so great to see their excitement, to see that Santa ate the cookies and drank the milk. That was always one of my favorite things to see--It made everything a little more real--to think that he was actually in my house, and he ate the cookies I left him and drank the milk. Actually, it was usually peanut butter fudge that I left (something that my dad suggested). Years later I realized why he was always wanted me to leave fudge instead of cookies!

We had a good day today, lots of family, and lots of good food. Here are two of the recipes that I fixed today--not mine, but from my sweet little pampered chef girl--she has the best stuff!

Sausage-Cheese Muffins (these are alot like sausage balls, only better because they are much bigger)

1 (1 lb) package ground pork sausage
3 cups Bisquick
1 1/2 Cups of Shredded Cheese (I like to buy the two cup bags and just put the whole thing in)
1 (10 3/4 oz) can condensed cheese soup
3/4 water

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Brown sausage, drain, and cool. (If you have a PC Micro cooker, it works great for this!)

Combine sausage, Bisquick, and shredded cheese in a large bowl. Make a well in the center of the mixture.

In a separate bowl, stir together soup and 3/4 cup water. Add to sausage mixture, stirring just until moistened. Scoop into muffin pan.

Bake at 375 degrees for 20-25 minutes or until lightly browned.

Christmas Punch

1 (2 Liter) Sprite (Chill in freezer just enough to make it slushy)
1 Large can of Pineapple juice
2 packs of strawberry kool-aid mix
1 cup sugar

Mix all ingredients together. Enjoy!

Starting it up!

I had started blogging back a couple of years ago and then I have let it go completely--so much that if you can believe this, I forgot my URL and so who knows where the old one is! Anywho, I enjoy reading everyone else's blogs so much that I have set a goal for myself to keep this on up. It will help to get our daily happenings somewhere and then I can go back to them at my leisure. Getting geared up for the festivies of the next two days. So excited to see Madison and Fisher's face when they open their presents.

We tried to cut back this year on gifts (actually cut a few people off of the list completely). I don't know what it is , maybe because I did not keep up with my spending over the years, but we really spend alot of money for Christmas. I was shocked at my total. (I won't share it, because it will just make my pocket book ache more). Maybe I need to start early for next year, but really how does anyone do that? I know that Madison has changed her mind 500 times, and each time she sees Santa that changes too. I will say that my sister got me hooked on fishingfordeals.com and it has been very addictive. That website has lead me to many great deals--check it out--you will thank me later!
